A REDELE Live Concert With Jake Shulman-Ment

Wednesday, September 30 at 7 PM at the Museum at Eldridge Street

Violinist Jake Shulman-Ment is among the leaders of a new generation of Klezmer and Eastern European folk music performers. To celebrate the release of his debut solo recording, A Redele (A Wheel), he leads an all-star band presenting ecstatic, soulful original compositions and improvisations as well as old Jewish and Gypsy songs inspired by his extensive travels in Romania and Hungary.

A Redele With Jake Shulman-Ment is part of our Lost & Found music series highlighting musical legacies that are at risk of disappearing and is funded in part through the Stanley Epstein Fund at the National Yiddish Book Center. This event is presented by the Museum at Eldridge Street. The Museum, founded as the Eldridge Street Project in 1986, presents the culture, history and traditions of the great wave of Jewish immigrants to the Lower East Side, drawing parallels with the diverse cultural communities that have settled in America. Concerts, literary events, art installations, workshops for school children, and other cultural and educational programs at the site serve audiences of diverse ages and backgrounds.

A Redele With Jake Shulman-Ment is made possible with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency.

Tickets for A Redele With Jake Shulman-Ment are $15 and $12 for students and seniors.
