“Kid friendly” is your goal. Look for more than just a hotel that’s near a museum or amusement park. But a lot depends on the location you choose for your family stay in New York.
It's best to find a hotel in the heart of the midtown area, offering
close proximity to theaters and fun family attractions like the Empire
State Building and Rockefeller Center. A Times Square hotel means your
kids will be close to the giant Toys R Us store, with its 3 stories of
toys and humungous indoor ferris wheel. The American Girl Place is also
within easy walking distance of any west side midtown hotel. |
Seek out hotels that let kids stay free and go out of their way to cater to them with supervised activities, goodie bags upon arrival, maybe even free breakfasts and cookies and milk delivered to the room.
A pool is a nice plus, and if the pets can stay, so much the better.
Can child care be obtained at the hotel or nearby? Find out in advance. Make sure that cribs are available and that your room if child-proofed.
