Astroland
Amusement Park New York
Location: 1000 Surf Ave., Brooklyn
Astroland Amusement Park, also known as Coney Island,
is New York City's largest amusement area. Home of the world famous Cyclone, for years the most famous and most-copied roller coaster
on the planet, Astroland attracts
thousands of families each year. But the quintessential Coney Island is not just
the Cyclone and the more than two dozen other rides in Astroland, it's the midway-style
arcade games that kid's love, the hot dogs and cotton candy, the unique smell of
the ocean, and the noise of the crowds as they joyfully welcome the summer season.
For those, however, for whom the rides are the major attraction,
there are certainly plenty of them to keep amusement park fanatics busy all day
long. Besides the Cyclone, families can ride a log flume, the swings, teacups, the
Astro Tower and, of course, the carousel, just to name a few. Historic Astroland
Amusement Park offers special family events nearly every weekend of the summer,
including 4th of July fireworks,
so check out the schedule for your visit.
