 NYC Summer 2009

Cool Festivals and Things to do in New York this Summer.

After Spring's thawing out, New Yorkers hit the outdoors in droves. The term outdoors is completely different in New York than in Salt Lake, for instance--here the term refers to visiting on of many cafes, parks and the like. During the hot Summer months you'll find no shortage of fun festivals including the following:

River to River Festival...
The River To River Festival takes place each summer from June through September, in a variety of public venues that canvas all of Downtown New York - from Chambers Street down to the southern tip of Manhattan and across the island from river to river. The Festival was founded following September 11, 2001 with the intention of using the arts as a tool for the revitalization of Lower Manhattan. Check the River to River Festival website for dates and details: www.rivertorivernyc.com.

Warm Up...

The event is housed within the architectural installation created by the winner of the annual P.S.1 and MoMA organized Young Architects Program. The music and architecture provide a unique multi-sensory experience for music fans, artists, and families alike. Tickets to Warm Up can be bought in advance from any of the agnès b. stores located in New York City.

Midsummer Night Swing...
Each year, Midsummer Night Swing turns Lincoln Center into a hopping open-air dance hall with blazing live bands laying down the rhythms you love, from swing to salsa, tango, funk, disco, and more. Check the current schedule at www.lincolncenter.org.
