Six Flags Great Adventure, located in the town of Jackson in Central New Jersey, has become the area's most well-known amusement park, especially due to its daring roller coasters. In 2005, Great Adventure introduced the tallest, fastest roller coaster on Earth. No kidding!
Kingda Ka, part of the new Golden Kingdom African-themed area, stands at a towering 456 feet and launches riders at speeds of up to 128 miles per hour! The park boasts a number of other fine coasters as well including Batman and Robin, Superman and Nitro. But don't let the roller coasters scare you away. This pristine park offers many children's and family rides including a number of themed areas designated specifically for the little ones.
There's also Hurricane Harbor, Great Adventure's wild family water park in addition to a Safari, where guests can drive their car or take a shuttle through an area reminiscent of the Serengeti Plain and view giraffes, lions, tigers, elephants, and more. Combination tickets can be purchased for all three attractions or for any combination of the three.
