Wonder Technology Lab New York
Location: 56th St. and Madison Ave., New York
The Sonywonder Technology Lab, one of just a handful of
free museums in New York, houses four floors of wonderful hands-on interactive activities
and exhibits, perfect for children's inquiring minds. Nevertheless, adults will
love this technology museum as well, as pushing buttons and watching amazing things
happen is never boring, even as we get older and more "sophisticated." Kids are
greeted by B.B. Wonderbot, the museum's "telepresence" robot, as they stop by for
their timed-entry ticket.
When it's time to enjoy the museum, guests can explore
the Communication Bridge, with exhibits outlining 150 years of communication technology
and history or visit the Technology Workshop, where you'll enjoy painting digital
pictures or adding funny sound effects to music clips.
Don't miss the 3rd floor Professional Studios where children
and adults can try their hand at a number of different careers that use communication
technology. The High Definition Theater lets guests view shows in that format. The
Wonder of Imagination exhibits allow guests to explore the history of interactive
video games, create their own racing game, and produce music with the help of virtual
Sony recording artists.
The museum is most crowded during the summer months and
school holidays, so plan according if you wish to visit Sonywonder Technology Lab.
