Baby boomers will remember the famous flying car from the 1968 film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, based on the children's story by famed author Ian Fleming.

Now, theater-goers can enjoy the antics of their favorite car and its occupants, inventor Caractacus Potts and his children Jemima and Jeremy, as they soar through the skies along with the lovely Truly Scrumptious and eccentric Grandpa Potts, in pursuit of the evil Baron and Baroness.

Billed as "the most fantasmagorical musical in the history of everything," the Broadway Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a huge hit in London and features several songs from the movie including Hushabye Mountain, Toot Sweets, and the Oscar-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Chitty is one of a new batch of musicals aimed at attracting families to the theater. With a story line appropriate for all ages, this musical is sure to be a hit with children thanks to the great melodies, energetic dancing, spectacular sets and special effects including scenes featuring the amazing flying automobile.
