Overview
This is the re-make of the 1964
production that change Broadway's history and the way the term "box office hit"
is viewed. It tells the story of a Jewish family who lived in a small village in
Russia in 1905. The musical deals with a man named Tevye whose older daughter
wishes to break the tradition of an arranged marriage because she had fallen in
love with a poor tailor. Does he grant the daughters request? Come and see for
yourself.
The musical re-introduces the beloved songs of "If I Were a Rich Man,"
"Matchmaker, Matchmaker," "Sunrise, Sunset," "To Life."
