Overview
This one-woman biographical drama
depicts Golda Meir, the former Israeli Prime Minister. The role is played by
Tovah Feldshuh, whose portrayal of Golda is focused and enthralling. The
characterization is totally complete. But whether portraying Golda at
various stages in her life, or any of the other characters who make appearances,
Feldshuh's work now is even more thoughtful and nuanced, her every
characterization funnier and more tragic throughout.
Golda's Balcony is a new play by William Gibson who spent several months in
Israel with Mrs. Meir. This play is the result of the many conversations they
both had at the time.
