Overview:
JJ Baron is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter/guitarist with a clear country
tinge, and critics have hailed him as one of the finest new talents to emerge in
years.

|
In his hour-and-15 minute show, the Providence, Rhode Island, native shows audiences why in no uncertain terms.
He calls his music “alternative country,” and you can hear snatches of everyone from Hank Williams to Bob Dylan in such original tunes as “Brand New Stranger,” “Set Em Up Boys” and “Baby Let’s Go.”
His music
looks back to an extent, but also forward, creating a unique
presentation that includes elements of poetry and literature. |
This is no ordinary show. R.A. Van Fleet, manager of Cirque Du singe Brisé, where Baron has performed, had this memory: “It was spooky seeing JJ perform for the first time. From his performance approach, to the way he holds his guitar and even his hairstyle, JJ Baron is the closest thing to feeling like being at The Gaslight in 1961."
