Monty Python Spamalot
Location: Shubert Theater, 225 West 44th Street, New York
Hours: Varies by performance
Admission: $66.25-$101.25
Fans of the wacky British comedy group Monty Python are flocking to Broadway to
view the first ever on-stage production of a Python classic. Spamalot, a stage
adaptation of the 1970s film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, provides the
audience members with a truly wacky night at the theater.
The spirited script and quirky songs featured in
Spamalot certainly attracted a top-notch cast to this show which claims to feature
"a chorus line of legless knights, men in tights (with legs), killer rabbits
and sexy dancing divas."
Long-time actor Tim Curry leads the cast
as King Arthur, Frasier's David Hyde Pierce is Sir Robin, and Hank Azaria portrays
Sir Lancelot.
Famed Broadway director Mike Nichols takes the
reigns and produces an unforgettable evening at the theater.
For those who may not be familiar with the original
1975 Holy Grail movie, Spamalot tells the story of the legendary King Arthur, the Knights
of the Round Table, and their search for the Holy Grail. The twisted tale, which left
movie-goers in stitches 30 years ago, will no doubt leave today's theater audiences rolling
in the aisles.
