Children’s Museum of Manhattan is aimed squarely at allowing kids to have a good time while they learn. It’s five complete floors of interactive exhibits, and it’s definitely OK to touch!
There’s a wide range activities. Some are just plain fun, and others help to encourage literacy. CMOM is an art museum, science hall and playground all in one. Exhibits of illustrations from classic children‘s books are a special feature.
The Time Warner Media Center takes kids through the world of animation and helps them make their own videos. The Body Odyssey is a whimsical (but educational) trip through the human body.
The computer lab uses the latest in imagery technology, and the Russell Berrie Creativity Lab offers multidisciplinary activities in the visual and performing arts and science.
The Early Childhood Center lets the littlest ones climb, slide, paint and sing.
In warmer months, City Splash allows youngsters to discover the scientific properties of water. The schedule also includes daily art classes and storytellers, and a full lineup of entertainment on weekends.
