School of Ballet
The School of American Ballet (SAB) is the nation‘s premier academy providing the finest training for students preparing for professional careers in ballet. Admission is through audition Founded in 1934, SAB is affiliated with the New York City Ballet, with which it shares an artistic vision based on the aesthetics of founders George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein. Today the School is led by Chairman of Faculty Peter Martins. Students are accepted from the NYC area for children‘s classes and from around the country, and abroad, for intermediate and advanced study. Alumni fill the New York City Ballet and dance with virtually every professional company across the United States. Guided Tours and Meet-the-Artist Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts offers an array of tours and special programs for individuals and groups.
